Sherborn's Drop-in for Seniors is a weekly luncheon
program held every Thursday at Pilgrim Church from Noon-1:30 p.m. The luncheon
is prepared by volunteers, and is served from noon to 12:30 pm. Afterward, there
is a presentation or special activity. This
partially-funded program is run by Sherborn's COA Drop-In Director, Leila Vehvilainen. The suggested donation for Drop-In is $2. For more

May 1:
"Homelessness and Sherborn's Response": Did you know that families
are the fastest growing segment of our homeless population? Carole Marple
and Judy Joline will talk about this issue of homelessness and the ways that
each of us can make a difference. Pilgrim Church's Family Homelessness
Team Ministry is working to educate residents, identify hands-on ways to assist
those in need and advocate for those who are homeless. As a host for the
Interfaith Hospitality Network, Pilgrim Church is assisting homeless families
right in our backyard. Come and learn. Perhaps you will want to be
involved!
May 8:
Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Come and enjoy the sights and sounds of Mexico
with this special celebration of Mexico's fight
for freedom and liberty. These are two ideals which Mexicans and Americans have
fought shoulder to shoulder to protect, ever since the 5th of May, 1862. VIVA!

May 15:
Armchair Traveler Lecture: "Traveling with Elderhostel"
Elderhostel "Adventures in Lifelong Learning" is a non-profit organization that
provides learning adventures to nearly 200,000 older adults each year.
Rochelle Kruger, Elderhostel Ambassador, will share her experience with
Elderhostel and her travels. Call COA if you need transportation to this
special event.
Blood Pressure Clinic at 1:15pm following lecture. This
free service is provided by the Natick Visiting Nurse Association and is
supported by the Sherborn Board of Health.
May 22:
Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Sherborn Community Center
Volunteers are the life blood of the Council on Aging. What would we do
without our volunteers. From noon to 2pm we'll be honoring representative of the Sherborn Fire Department will
talk about a new community program. Project lifesaver is an innovative and
rapidly growing program aiding victims and their families suffering from
Alzheimer's Disease and related disorders such as Down's Syndrome and Autism.
It uses state-of-the-art technology employing wristbqnk transmitters to locate
wandering and lost adults and children. Following the program we will
celebrate April birthdays.

celebrated on the last Drop-In of the month. Join us for the fun!
